FINA has released it’s official list of swimsuits approved for 2010. Most major swimsuit manufacturers are represented on the list including Nike, Arena, TYR and Speedo. Here is that list in its entirety:

The only Speedo FSII styles that have been approved by FINA are the Female Recordbreaker, the Male Jammer, and the Male Brief.
So, I hate to dwell on the Speedo Record breaker but it doesn’t say anything about the classic style. My daughter has our State Tournament next week and we bought a FSII Recordbreaker #7190141 and I can’t find it on there. Since they take the kneeskin then won’t they take the classic?
The Speedo FSII suits are only legal if they do not have the bumps on the front of the suit. If they do have the bumps then technically they are illegal. Speedo started making the FSII without the bumps about a year ago, when the bumps started to fall off the suits before they were sold. If your suit does have the bumps then you should be able to just pick them off and it will then be legal.
Hi, as a competetive swimmer looking for a new pair of competition trunks to replace my, now illegal, speedos. I was attracted to the Nike Swift II-Jammers. Just wondering where it is possible to buy these as I cant seem to find any shops or websites that stock them. Thanks for your help 🙂
The Nike Swift II is not avaliable yet. Nike Swim had to get the Swift II approved by Nike so they are late in making the product. D&J Sports is expecting some Nike Swift II suits at the end of February or early March.

Only the new suits that have just recently been for sale. If you have a suit from last year then no it is illegal.
I HAVE A DOLFIN WOMENS LTF PRINTED SWIMSUIT THAT I LOVED RACING IN,BUT HAVE NOT FOUND THAT ONE IN THE FINA APPROVED SUITS. WHERE CAN I FIND OUT IF THAT ONE IS ALLOWED?
The Dolfin LTF is considered legal for swim meets. The LTF is not really an elite racing and Dolfin does not have a lot of people if any wearing this suit at the national or international level so they did not spend the time or money to travel to FINA International to get it approved. Plus this suit meets all of the requirements to be legal so there should not be any issues with it at a swim meet. Dolfin does have a new elite racing suit in development and will be releasing it later this summer or fall. I have heard that it is very similar to some of the new racing suits, especially the new Arena racing suits. As always this suit will follow the pricing structure of Dolfin and be a very affordable option for swimmers.
