The polyester swimsuits are designed to last 3-10 times longer than the traditional lycra lifeguard swimsuits. Look for 100% polyester swimsuits or a blend of polyester and PBT – a polyester blend material designed to stretch and perform like the lycra swimsuits do.

The next tip that we suggest when shopping for a lifeguard swimsuit is to look for a straps that will be comfortable. There are two basic strap designs – the wide strap and the thin strap. The wide strap swimsuits are typically more comfortable since the straps do not dig into your shoulders and they also provide you with more support. However many people prefer the thin strap swimsuits and they say the straps can be just as comfortable to wear.
