Swim Briefs Are Back in Style

Swim Briefs Are Back in Style

Competitive Swimwear
The brief style of competitive swimwear is rising back to the top.

For a period of time, men were moving away from the old brief style of swimwear, even in competitive swimwear, and moving into longer styles, including jammers. On the beach or at the pool, you were more likely to see the jammers or board shorts than you were to see the brief style swimwear. However, if you are hanging out at the pool for a swim practice or meet, you are again more likely to see more of the men sporting briefs.

Less Restrictive

One of the reasons why men prefer the briefs over other types of competitive swimwear is the way they fit. There is less material that comes in contact with the body, reducing the amount of restriction they feel as they swim through the water. Restrictive swimwear can lead to a poor performance, which is why more men are turning to briefs like the Speedo Vortex Brief. Men are able to move their legs and not worry about feeling restricted as they move.

A Variety of Colors

The Speedo Vortex Brief is an attractive brief that creates a fun style for swimmers to wear in the pool. For those who are part of a team, there are many colors from which to choose, including green, blue, red and orange. These great colors will attract attention and help men fit in with the rest of their team.

More than Just Competitive Swimwear

Brief-style swimwear is showing up in more places than swim competitions and training. These short swimsuits are appearing in movies, on beaches and at the casual pool. More people are also searching for terms, such as “Speedo” online, making it evident that interest in these suits is growing again. This means that many men are going to be looking for new swimwear to wear at the pool through the winter and at the beach once the warmer weather hits again.

Swim briefs were introduced years ago and were popular for a period of time. However, over the last couple of decades, their use has declined in favor of board shorts and jammers, even in competitive swimming. Even though trends have moved away from these briefs, the tides are changing again, drawing more attention to the traditional swim briefs again.
