When most people think of purchasing the items their swimmer needs to train and compete, they think of competitive swimwear. While this is one of the most important elements, it’s not the only thing you need to buy. The swim accessories your swimmer needs are important too. Don’t skimp on the following items to ensure your swimmer has a fair advantage.

Swim Towels

Your swimmer needs to be able to dry off after practices and meets, as well as in between heats. One of the best ways to do this is with a high-quality swim team towel. Many teams require their swimmers to wear the same swimsuits so everyone matches. In some cases, they may ask everyone to use the same towels as well. These towels can be embroidered or screen printed with the team name and logo, as well as individual swimmers’ names.

Swimming Bags

Every swimmer needs a good way to transport everything they need to swim well. In addition to their swimwear and a towel, swimmers need a long list of other items. They need swim goggles, a swim cap, a change of clothing and many other items. If they are heading to the pool to train, swim training gear may also need to be transported. There are two basic ways swimmers an transport everything they need. Swimming backpacks allow swimmers to carry everything they need while keeping their hands free. However, not everyone wants to wear a backpack to and from the pool. For these individuals, a swim duffel bag can be an excellent alternative.

Regardless of the type of swimming bag you choose, it’s important to make sure it is constructed with swimmers in mind. A swimmer’s bag should have compartments for all of your smaller gear, as well as the appropriate ventilation to handle your wet suit and towel after you are done swimming.

Competitive swimming requires a vast amount of gear to remain competitive. Not only do you have to worry about buying the right swimwear and other personal swim gear, including goggles and a cap, it’s important to consider a swim team towel and a bag to carry everything with you. Talk to your coach about whether there are specific items they expect you to buy.
