The Olympics bring together athletes from around the world for some friendly competition. This year, one of Texas’s own is competing and not for the first time. This is Cammile Adams’ second run for the Olympic gold. She had previously been part of the Olympic team that competed in the 200 meter butterfly where she finished fifth in the 2012 London Olympic Games. She has returned to Rio with Team USA to once again swim the 200 meter butterfly. However, she once again fell short of medal contention, improving on her London performance and placing fourth in the final.

Texas Swimming Isn’t Her Only Focus

At 24 years old, Cammile Adams has a lot on her plate this year. In addition to being part of Team USA for the second time, Adams is preparing to finish the remaining credits she needs to earn her degree from Texas A&M University. In addition to her impending degree, she will be getting married in two months. This means she’s been training, studying and planning the most important day of her life, all at the same time, making her fourth place run even more amazing.
