Speedo’s Elastromeric Technology Takes Swim Goggles to a New Level

Speedo's elastromeric technology is available in several goggles styles.
Consider goggles with the Speedo elastromeric technology.

Most swimmers have been there. After an afternoon or a full day at the pool, either training or competing, you take off your goggles and find red rings around your eyes from the suction. Even the most comfortable goggles can create this effect. However, with Speedo’s elastromeric technology, they have reduced this issue and helped make wearing goggles more comfortable for swimmers on all levels.

A New Technology

The new elastromeric technology is available in two styles to accommodate the needs of every swimmer: the MDR 2.4 and the Bullet. Regardless of the style you choose, you will find a more comfortable fit that doesn’t create the tell-tale red rings around your eyes after you spend a significant amount of time at the pool. The reason for this is the new seals are equipped with grooves that allow the seal to conform more closely to the unique contours of every swimmer’s face. This prevents the buildup of pressure, which is often the cause of the red rings. These goggles are available in junior goggles, a well as polarized and mirrored goggles for adults. You won’t find goggles of this caliber from any of the other leading manufacturers.

Two Profile Designs

The elastromeric technology used to eliminate the presence of red rings and pressures when wearing goggles has been implemented into two goggle designs to ensure every swimmer can find the option that best suits their needs. One of the biggest complaints swimmers have is distortion due to curved lenses. This is why both the MDR 2.4 and the Bullet versions have split lenses instead. The difference lies in the lens design, however. The MDR 2.4 has wider lenses designed for a better outer eye fit. The Bullet, on the other hand, features a lower profile design.

Choosing the right goggles can be difficult. Because swimmers have long accepted the red rings around their eyes, many have given up on finding the most comfortable goggles. While there are comfortable options available, many of them still leave that ring. With the newest technology from Speedo, this is changing, giving swimmers a higher caliber option so they can look their best when they get out of the pool too.
